Pandemic PACT is an innovative new programme to track data about research funding and evidence for a wide range of diseases with outbreak potential and broader preparedness activities, in alignment with the WHO priority diseases.
Pandemic PACT will be of value to all those interested in improving preparedness and response to future outbreaks: funders, researchers, policymakers, international stakeholders in the academic and policy communities, and beyond. The programme will build and expand on the achievements and lessons learnt from the UKCDR and GloPID-R COVID-19 Research Project Tracker and COVID CIRCLE initiative to ensure that we are better prepared for future outbreaks.
Highlights of the event
Participants will hear from the Pandemic PACT team and key speakers from our stakeholder organisations:
- An introduction to the Pandemic PACT programme and showcase of the Pandemic PACT Grant Tracker
- Brief presentations of Pandemic PACT’s key elements, including a deep dive into the RRNAs (Rapid Research Needs Appraisals) methodology and our work on research prioritisation
- A panel discussion and Q&A session
How will PACT make us better prepared for the next epidemic/pandemic?
A panel of experts and leading voices in global preparedness & response will outline their ambitions for future preparedness efforts. They will also reflect on how Pandemic PACT builds on lessons learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as its value for future strategies.
