The prioritisation of affordable housing provides an opportune and strategic setting to achieve mutually beneficial goals of making cities and towns inclusive, safe and resilient, whilst also mitigating the impact of the built environment on climate change.
To showcase existing research partnerships and explore the potential for new innovative interdisciplinary collaborations, the UK and Kenyan governments hosted a research symposium on ‘Healthy Cities, Housing and Sustainable Infrastructure’ in Nairobi in May 2019.
This report represents the collective views of the participants and the opportunities for impact that were identified.
